Welcome
My name is Niamh Cooper and I am a Writer and Editor, based in Co. Cork, Ireland.
Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed playing with words - from writing secret notes (in Latin!) during the dreaded Maths class, to transcribing my mother's telephone conversations - a rather one-sided affair I must admit. But I had fun filling in the gaps!

A few years ago I joined my local writers' group and in 2009 I had my very first publication!
Since then, I have been shortlisted in a few competitions and have performed at t Listowel Writers' Week when I was shortlisted in the Fiction Slam Final in 2010 - a most daunting affair!

I decided to put together this website for anyone who'd like to read some of my stories. Enjoy!

* NEWSFLASH! *

*** "Hell Run", the story of ambition, recklessness, and adventure in Southern Africa in the 1960s, is an exciting memoir I am currently ghost-writing for an Irishman who spent many years of his life in Africa. Based on true events and inspired by many near-death moments, "Hell Run" is the moving story about how Ian Smith came between a man and his horse. Watch this space... "
"... They are shouting, crying, grown men are yelling, pleading. Further down a man is slumped forward, onto another man, who is still..."
